More than 1,300 seized cars crushed in Norfolk over past three years, FOI reveals

More than 1,300 cars seized by police in Norfolk have been crushed in the last three years a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

The Eastern Daily Press report:

Audis, BMWs, Mercedes, Jaguars and even a Porsche are among more than 1,000 vehicles to have been crushed in the past three years after being seized by Norfolk police, it has emerged.

A total of 1,316 vehicles have been destroyed between April 2010 and March 2013 after being seized by police for offences of driving without insurance or a valid driving licence.

The figures, which have been obtained after a Freedom of Information (FoI) request was submitted to Norfolk Police, showed 361 vehicles were crushed between April 2010 and March 2011; 519 from April 2011 to March 2012 and 436 between April last year and the end of March.
