300 people in Haringey claimed compensation for injuring themselves on broken pavement, FOI reveals

Haringey residents have claimed for compensation from the council almost 300 times in the last two years after they injured themselves on broken pavement a Freedom of Information request has revealed.

Unfortunately the request doesn’t deal with the amount of compensation which was issued.

The Haringey Independent reports:

A Freedom of Information request reveals 159 claims were made during the financial year of 2010 to 2011, with 119 people claiming between 2011 and 2012.

The figures come less than six months after Haringey was named by the Department of Transport as having the worst maintained roads in the country.
