Alex Salmond has been accused of presiding over a “disturbing pattern of secrecy” in the Scottish Government after it emerged that he has refused to reveal details of a second taxpayer-funded trip to the US.
The First Minister travelled to New York and Washington during “Scotland Week” last year on a seven-day, £360,000 visit, during which he made a number of speeches on his bid to break up Britain.
However, a request for a breakdown of expenses incurred on the trip has been held up by civil servants for more than five months.
