Bristol City Council was only able to answer half of the Freedom of Information (FOI) requests it received last year within the legal time limit.

The council said it had seen a surge in the number of requests it received at a time it was cutting staff numbers.

It also said many of the requests come from organisations interested in business rates and rental values rather than individual members of the public.
