The North West Evening Mail report:

MORE than £270,000 was spent repairing crashed and damaged police vehicles in just over three years.

Cumbria police spent £273,101.92 repairing its 340-vehicle fleet from January 2010 to May 2013, a Freedom of Information request has revealed.

Of this, £89,597.49 was spent on vehicles stationed in Barrow, Ulverston, Millom and Windermere.
