The Evening Telegraph report:

Dundee University has experimented on more than 50,000 animals in the space of a year, figures have revealed.

The university’s testing allowed for “substantial” pain to be caused in up to 1,000 cases.

Scientists carried out experiments on a number of species of small animals between January 1 last year and December 31, according to a Freedom of Information response.
