Fifty Shades of Grey blamed on surge in Scots trapped in handcuffs, FOI reveals

The Scottish Express report:

Crews across the country rushed to the assistance of 65 shackled couples amid a total of 800 call outs to save people unable to free themselves from restraint.

It is thought the figures may have been boosted after the 2011 success of EL James’ explicit novel about a couple’s exploration of colourful bedroom antics.

The book, which is being made into a film starring British actor Charlie Hunnam and American Dakota Johnson, has sold more than 5million copies in Britain.
