AMBULANCE workers are furious after discovering bosses who have been making cutbacks have received new Mercedes and BMW cars.

Executives at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust have received company lease cars worth between £23,000 and £67,000, or the alternative option to take a cash payment of £6,472.

But health bosses have defended the decision, saying the vehicles are “appropriate for carrying out their duties”.
