FOI reveals £100,000 spent on charing points for electric cars, which only 10 people hold permits to

Charing points for electric cars in Islington cost £100,000 and only 10 people have permits to them, a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

Islington Now report:

Just ten people have a permit to charge electric vehicles at meters in Islington despite nearly £100,000 being spent on the installation of power sources across the borough.

Motorists could have travelled 635 miles using the power obtained from three of the seven meters on Islington’s roads in a year.

In 2009, Islington Council predicted that demand for its charging points would exceed supply.
