FOI reveals £12m bill for private vehicles from East of England Ambulance service

Millions of pounds has been spent on cover services for short staffed ambulance services in the east of England a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

The Welwyn Hatfield Times report: 

MORE than £12m has been spent on private ambulances by health chiefs over a 17-month period, it has emerged.

The East of England Ambulance Trust forked out for the multi-million pound cover service between April 2011 and August 2012.

It left bosses with a £12,815,702 bill, new figures have revealed.
