More than 140 bus and HGV drivers are allowed to work despite suffering blackouts like Glasgow bin lorry crash driver Harry Clarke.

Lorry driver Mr Clarke suffered a blackout behind the wheel in Glasgow city centre before the crash which killed six people last December.

Figures uncovered through the Freedom of Information request show even applicants with dementia, sleep apnoea and alcohol problems were granted licences to drive heavy goods and passenger-carrying vehicles last year.
