The News and Star report:

The number of students caught trying to cheat their way through their Cumbrian university course has almost doubled in two years.

Figures obtained by the News & Star reveal that the county campuses of the University of Cumbria – which include two in Carlisle as well as the sites at Workington, Energus, Newton Rigg, near Penrith, Ambleside and Barrow – dealt with 30 reported cases of malpractice in 2012/13.

This is up from 22 in 2011/12 and 17 in 2010/11.
