FOI reveals 66% of North Yorkshire crimes unsolved in 2016

TWO-THIRDS of crimes logged by North Yorkshire Police last year have not been solved.

Figures released to The Press under the Freedom Of Information Act showed thousands of crimes committed in the region remain unsolved, while just over six per cent are still under investigation.

In total, 37,290 crimes were logged by North Yorkshire Police in 2016 – 18,357 between January 1 and June 30, and another 18,933 were logged between July 1 and December 31.
