The BBC has come under fire for treating hundreds of its own staff, politicians and journalists from Russian and Turkish state TV to free tickets for Wimbledon.

While ordinary members of the public have to splash out hundreds of pounds or queue overnight to get into SW19, the broadcaster handed out 421 free tickets.

The vast majority of tickets were for the much-coveted seats on Centre Court.
