FOI reveals Chilcot inquiry ‘was set up to allow ministers to avoid blame for the Iraq War’

The Chilcot inquiry was set up to allow ministers to ‘avoid blame’ for the Iraq War, new documents have revealed.

It revealed how officials favoured a secret inquiry to be carried out by privy counsellors to minimise the risk of individuals and the government facing legal action.
