FOI reveals cost of suspended senior Caerphilly council officers tops £2.6m

The bill to taxpayers for the unlawful pay rises scandal at Caerphilly council has topped £2.6m, it has been revealed.

Three senior officers of the council – chief executive Anthony O’Sullivan, his deputy Nigel Barnett and head of legal services Daniel Perkins – remain suspended on full pay pending their trial on charges of misconduct in public office.
