Crimes committed on social media in Hertfordshire have risen by more than 500 percent a Freedom of Information request has revealed.

CRIMES involving Twitter or Facebook have risen by more than 500 per cent in Hertfordshire over the last four years, according to police figures.
Statistics obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show social networking offences have increased from 20 reported crimes in 2008 to 129 between January and November 2012.
Of the allegations recorded last year, 25 people faced criminal charges and a further 36 were given cautions.
