Children as young as seven are among hundreds of school pupils banned from Welsh classrooms after dishing out racist abuse and sexually harassing others.

Hundreds of youngsters have been excluded – some permanently – for sexual and racial misconduct in little more than two years, according to figures obtained from the nation’s local authorities.

Our figures, which include a Year Three child being suspended for racial abuse and students in Year Four being excluded for sexual harassment, have been branded “completely unacceptable” by leading education unions.
