Official figures show inmates – including three charged with trying to join Islamic State in Syria – are not being housed in high-security category A jails.

A total of 26 prisoners – seven guilty of terror offences and 19 facing charges – are in category B institutions.

The figures were released to the Daily Star Sunday following a Freedom of Information request.
