More than 2,500 members of the Royal Navy are classified as obese, according to latest figures.

Overall, 7.8% of the Navy personnel (2,552) had a body mass index score (BMI) above 30.

In the RAF the rate was 4.6% (1,551 personnel) and the Army 6.7% (5,828 soldiers).
