A crack team dealing with hostage situations, protests and riots at Midland prisons has had to respond to almost ONE HUNDRED incidents in one year.

The National Tactical Response Group (NTRG) was called out to 91 disturbances ranging from hostage-taking to riots at the region’s jails between September 2013 and September 2014.

The frightening figure is almost double the number of incidents just a year before.
