FOI reveals rise in number of North Wales kids not getting mental health help

The of young people who have mental health worries failing to get treatment has been rising, prompting fears from worried parents that new assessments may be seeing some of them slip through the net.

There was a rise in children and young adults trying to get help from the CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) service, but the number who failed to get the help from CAMHS was rising faster.

And some parents feel that decision to cut the assessment back to just two-hours might mean the assessors are not getting a full enough picture of the child’s needs.
