South Wales Police have paid more than £19,000 in compensation for injuries caused by dog or horse bites in the last five years.

The highest amount was £14,750 paid out in 2011 for three incidents.

Other payments of £1,000 were paid out between April 2012 and March 2013, and £3,187.50 was paid out in the 2010/11 financial year.
