FOI reveals thousands spent equipping officers with iPads by Herts Police

More than £100,000 of taxpayer money has been spent on gadgets like tablet computers by Hertfordshire Constabulary, according to new figures.

Data released under the Freedom of Information Act shows that over the last four years, police spent £102,573 on 156 computers, including iPads and HP products.

In the current financial year alone, £46,461 has been spent on 55 HP 2760P computers and £16,309 on 33 Apple iPads. Last year, 49 Apple iPads were purchased at a cost of £21,976.
