FOI reveals Wales’ train surfing hotspots

Wales has a number of ‘hotspots’ for the dangerous act of train surfing with 79 cases reported in the last six years.

The authorities have warned of the risk of death or serious injury through train surfing, an act which involves catching a ride on the outside of a moving train, as the Easter holidays approach.

A Freedom of Information request to the British Transport Police (BTP) revealed that the force has recorded to 79 incidents of train surfing in Wales since 2010.
