FOI reveals West Midlands police quit while under investigation

One-hundred and eleven police officer in the West Midlands have resigned while under investigation, meaning they were unlikely to face disciplinary procedures a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

Those who resigned include three inspectors, one chief superintendent, three detective constables and 11 sergeants.

The Coventry Telegraph report:

MORE than 100 police officers and civilian staff have resigned or retired while under investigation by West Midlands Police, new figures have revealed.

And a total of 26 employees admitted or were convicted of criminal offences – while a further eight received cautions.

The Telegraph has also discovered two cops under investigation have remained suspended on FULL PAY since 2010, eight since 2011 and two this year.
