Labour repeat pledge to extend FOI if they win in 2015

Labour have repeated their pledge to extend Freedom of Information laws to private companies who deliver public services.

Sadiq Khan said at the party’s conference this week:

“We’ll also extend Labour’s freedom of information law. Giving people a legal right to know how their money is being spent when private companies deliver public services.”G4S, Serco, Capita, ATOS and others subjected to the same openness we demand of the public sector.”

As it is coming up to election time there’s bound to be a few promises that won’t be kept being banded about.

It’s not the first time that Khan and Labour have made this promise though.

They did it in 2013.

They did it in 2012.

Let’s hope they don’t forget, if they win next year.
