Consultants developing Bedford Hospital have cost £1m a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

The Bedford Times and Citizen report:

Management consultants who advise on the future of Bedford Hospital have cost almost £1million, despite austerity cuts .

A Freedom Of Information (FOI) request revealed this week that as part of the hospital’s Transforming For Excellence programme, managementconsultants Ernst and Young were paid just under £1million when £13million is being cut from other hospital budgets.

The news has been met with disdain from Bedford Borough councillor Louise King
