Ministry of Defence admits it doesn’t know how much replacing nuclear submarines will cost

The Government has finally admitted it does not know how much it will cost to replace Britain’s nuclear-armed Trident submarines .

The Ministry of Defence made the damning confession following a freedom of information request – and “arrogantly” demanded a “safe space” to continue its work in secret.

Hours before the FoI response was revealed, Defence Secretary Michael Fallonrepeated the claim that building four new boats to replace the Vanguard fleet would cost £31billion, with a £10billion contingency.
