POLICE have refused to reveal how many times they have snooped on the public by “bugging” property – because it could help criminals.
In a freedom of information request, Police Scotland were asked how many times they used special surveillance laws to ‘bug’ property with recording devices.
But the force refused to divulge details of their covert investigations as it could “be likely to prejudice
substantially the prevention or detection of crime; the apprehension or prosecution of offenders”.
