Scottish council spends £800,000 on leases, FOI reveals

Dumfries and Galloway council spend around £800,000 a year on leasing 29 properties.

The properties across the region range from a fire station to a park pavilion.

The BBC report:

The local authority agreed earlier this year to try to move staff out of such buildings and into sites it owns.

However, it still leases a number of properties including museums, community halls, libraries and public toilets.

In response to a BBC Freedom of Information request it declined to reveal individual rents but said the total was £797,858.
