The Freedom of Information Act defines universities as a public authority, therefore they are subject to the Act’s requirements. Universities must respond to FOI requests and publish information through publication schemes.

This page of the FOI Directory provides a list of all UK universities and the FOI email addresses of universities. The list of universities’ email addresses should be used for making FOI requests and not inquiring about the potential study at universities, as sometimes happens.
