University of Leicester spend £30,000 on Richard III legal case, FOI reveals

This is Leicester report:

The University of Leicester has now spent more money on legal costs defending the Plantagenet Alliance’s judicial challenge than it did discovering Richard III’s body.

Following a Freedom of Information request from the Leicester Mercury, academics have revealed they have incurred £28,143,60 in legal fees responding to what they describe as a “spurious” case.

They are warning the expense will rise now a judge has given the go-ahead for the case to be heard in the High Court.
