Operation Conifer spent £1,066,722 by mid-February, a Freedom of Information request by The Sun on Sunday reveals.

It includes £900,000 on cop salaries, £32,000 on accommodation and £22,000 on vehicle hire.

A total of £11,022 went on public transport and £1,029 on accident repair.
