The boss of loss-making Prestwick Airport splashed out £1400 of tax payers’ money on a new bed.

Ron Smith, the newly-appointed £120,000-a-year chief executive, received a relocation package when he moved from Aberdeen.

Details released in a Freedom of Information response show that he also got £230 towards a bedroom carpet and £789 for a dining suite.
