Wales Online report:

Firefighters have come under attack more than 150 times over the past three year, alarming new statistics have revealed.

The figures – which equate to about one attack every week on average – show the scale of verbal or physical abuse fire crews are subjected to as they carry out their duties.

The details, obtained through a Freedom of Information request to Wales’ three fire services, show that most of the incidents since 2010 involved verbal abuse or objects being thrown at firefighters.
