Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust’s £1.7 million on private vehicles, FOI reveals

The Yorkshire ambulance services spent almost £2m on private ambulances a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

The Yorkshire Evening Post report:

Ambulance chiefs have been asked to explain their spending on hire vehicles after running up a bill of more than £1.7m on private ambulances.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust spent £1,739,131 on private ambulances between March, 2012, and February this year.

Tory MP Graham Stuart, who obtained the figures through a freedom of information request, said he had now written to the trust to find out why private ambulances are used so extensively.
