30,000 NHS patients at risk of going blind due to delays, FOI reveals

The Daily Express report:

Research by patient charity the ­Macular Society reveals two-thirds of NHS trusts are not meeting critical four-week follow-up times to administer drugs that reverse or arrest macular degeneration, the most common cause of blindness.

Patients can wait up to 12 weeks for ­injections of drugs.

The delay means many could suffer irreversible loss of vision.
