Ambulance trust criticised over shortages of frontline staff revealed by FOI

The East of England Ambulance Service left 200 jobs unfilled while paying out millions in overtime a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

The Telegraph report:

An ambulance service which has come under fire for repeatedly failing patients left more than 200 frontline posts empty while spending £12 million on staff overtime.

Last night a health minister branded the decisions taken by East of England Ambulance Service trust as “irrational” and said they had come amid a growing crisis at the trust.

The service, which covers six counties, has been criticised repeatedly for delays sending out 999 responses, which have put lives at risk.
