Britain’s top ten most lucrative speed cameras raked in £12million in just three years, FOI reveals

The Daily Express report:

Cameras used in England and Wales caught 200,000 speeding motorists, making millions for the state.

The revelation will bolster campaigners who say that speed cameras are used to take money from drivers, rather than improving road safety.

One camera on the M60 near Stockport caught 32,205 speeding motorists, and with the minimum £60 it will have made a huge £1,932,300.

Each of the 10 cameras have caught a minimum of 10,000 people breaking the law over just three years.
