The Guardian report:

British politicians have been queueing up to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela in recent days.

There were many times of course when the British establishment did not give him and the anti-apartheid movementsuch whole-hearted support.

Today Conservative politicians such as David Cameron may laud him as a hero, but back in the day, Cameron’s real hero, Margaret Thatcher, denounced the African National Congress as “a typical terrorist organisation”.
