Police officers in Cambridgeshire have been sacked for sexual misconduct and a detective was disciplined for sending sex texts to a female constable, it has been revealed.

The male detective sergeant was reported for sending the inappropriate texts and was subject to an investigation which ended in management action.

He was among eight officers who were investigated over sexual misconduct by the force’s professional standards department.
