Wales Online report:

Little Miss Late’ and ‘The Neverending Story’ are just some of the books which were handed in late to Cardiff libraries over the past year resulting in £57,000 worth of library fines.

A Freedom of Information request has revealed how the hefty fines, for a total of 33,033 books, built up between October 2012 and October 2013.

The fines were for books returned late to Cardiff council’s 20 libraries including Central, Canton, Cathays, Ely, Fairwater, Grangetown, Llandaff North, Llanedeyrn, Llanishen, Llanrumney, Penylan, Radyr, Rhiwbina, Rhydypennau, Roath, Rumney, Splott, St Mellons, Tongwynlais and Whitchurch.
