FOI reveals 425 people treated for dog bites in Gloucestershire last year

More than one patient a day is treated for a dog bite in Gloucestershire on average, new figures show.

Some 425 people were given a nip or worse by man’s best friend in the past year, according to numbers released under the Freedom of Information Act.

The county’s top emergency medicine consultant said most are minor wounds – and people shouldn’t worry unnecessarily about whether their tetanus vaccination is up to date.
