The handouts come at a time when TfGM has announced that it will slash £19m from its budget in the next two years.

TfGM said they had been forced to make the cuts because of ‘unprecedented pressures’.

Yet out of the 684 staff employed by TfGM, 481 hold ID cards which give them free travel across the Greater Manchester bus and tram network.
