The BBC has been accused of ‘propping up its friends in the Left-wing media’ after new figures revealed it spends nearly £2,500 a week on the Guardian.

The Corporation spent £127,643 on the Left-leaning newspaper last year, making it the most popular title in its offices by far.

The startling figure is nearly 45 per cent higher than its bill for any other title, despite the Guardian accounting for a tiny fraction of Britain’s newspaper sales.
