FOI reveals Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust spends £140,000 on catering

HEALTH bosses have defended a catering bill after shelling out more than £140,000 over four years.

Figures obtained by The Chronicle through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request show the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust spent a total of £141,268 on catering and hospitality between January 2010 and December last year.

But the Trust has driven down its annual catering bill from a peak of £48,642 in 2011 to £22,076 last year, and bosses insisted teas, coffees, biscuits and sandwiches were only supplied where appropriate at staff meetings, training and public meetings.
