Children as young as ten have been sending x-rated photos of themselves to classmates, police have revealed.

One force claims to have launched 18 sexting investigations involving underage children last year.

In one incident, a ten-year-old boy was warned by Northumbria Police for sending vulgar images of himself to an female classmate, 11.
