Four bus drivers a day were abused on average on London’s buses over a period of three years, figures show.

There were 4,967 incidents of physical and verbal abuse in three tax years leading up to spring 2013, according to stats revealed as part of a Freedom of Information request.

Four in 10 incidents involved drivers being physically attacked or threatened with a weapon.
