PLYMOUTH is the fly-tipping capital of the Westcountry – averaging more than 12,000 cases a year – and the guilty parties are getting away with it.

A Freedom of Information request has revealed that there have been more than 37,000 reports of rubbish being dumped in the city during the last three years, during which time there have been no successful prosecutions.

Brian Vincent, cabinet member for Streetscene at Plymouth City Council, said he was angry about people who dump their rubbish.
